I began as a Program Manager, but also have experience as the Director of Education. Having assisted with homeschooling my brother for the last five years, I have extensive experience in tutoring. A Little Bit About Me...

I am an upcoming May 2006 graduate from Allegheny College, majoring in English. Given my background at a small, liberal arts college and being a former biochemistry major, I have a great understanding of language arts, math and science. I have completed a 60 page research project as well completed numerous written projects throughout my college career, that have undoubtedly strengthened my writing skills. In high school, as well as in college, I have tutored students anywhere from the middle school level to the high school level in all subjects. I have worked with all different ages of students, from 3rd grade to college, and enjoyed all of my experiences. I find that no matter who the student is I enjoy teaching and helping other, helping an individual to not only grasp concepts but develop a stronger self confidence in their learning. I am good at adapting to a variety of learning styles, especially since I have found that I learn from a variety of types myself. As a mother of three teenagers with distinctly different personalities and learning styles, I approach teaching in customized ways that help them open up rather than close down when faced with academic obstacles.
