I prefer teaching/tutoring in a way that I actually draw the answer out of the student, whether immediate or prolonged. Another method I frequently employ is actually having the student "teach" step by step the process in solving any particular question, in which I have received quite a bit of positive feedback on. Balance is the Key to Life

My teaching 'style' is a bit unique, in my opinion. By that, I mean that every child/student 'learns' differently, so I must 'adapt' my style 'on the fly' after determining what is the most effective approach/style/method for that individual student. In addition, the subject that I am teaching also affects my style and some 'tools' that I learned as a youngster and a teacher are also implemented frequently.
I was trained to be a teacher at CSU-Fresno, where I graduated in May, 1999. I substituted for 3 consecutive years in Fresno, Clovis, and Madera Unified School districts at grade levels 3-12. I received my Master's Degree in Sports Administration from the American Public University system in May, 2011, and graduated with Honors and a 4.0 GPA. My teaching style is perhaps not as Socratic as I would prefer. I first elucidate the principles being considered, and then use a practical means to illustrate and work with that principle. I like to have the student learn to derive what is being taught for themselves. That way the material will stay with them. Grounding the material being learned in some real-life experience makes knowledge meaningful and useful. That is what I endeavor to achieve.
