I prefer teaching/tutoring in a way that I actually draw the answer out of the student, whether immediate or prolonged. Another method I frequently employ is actually having the student "teach" step by step the process in solving any particular question, in which I have received quite a bit of positive feedback on. My teaching style is perhaps not as Socratic as I would prefer. I first elucidate the principles being considered, and then use a practical means to illustrate and work with that principle.
