I graduated with a degree in Physical Science Education, which gives me a strong background in Physical Sciences and in math. I have worked with children and youth of all age levels and nearly every ability. I ran an afterschool program for the Salvation Army, ran a boys home for troubled boys and worked in St. Paul City schools as a substitute teacher and a night teacher at an evening school. In the summer of 2009, I worked in Albany, New York for the Albany Pine Bush Preserve conducting surveys in the preserve for the endangered Karner Blue Butterfly. A Little Bit About Me...

When a question is asked, I am not going to simply just tell the student the answer. I would want them to think it out and try and figure it out for themselves. I would however guide them in the right direction and even ask them other questions they may know in order for them to figure out the intial problem. I feel that these types of interactions are a more effective way of learning. Also, writing things down helps tremedously because not only are you thinking it, but you're seeing it and reading it as well. I am a very easy person to get along with, and I am also very encouraging. I enjoy helping others whether it's in an academic environment or not.

I graduated from college with certification to teach grades 1-12. Do to the job market at that time, I was unable to get a full time teaching job. I substituted and then tutored for 2 years. I then worked various jobs working with the public. Although much of work experience is not in the teaching field, I have worked with people in many ways to reach their full potential and can relate to them on a level that they will comprehend.
I believe in using a multi- modality approach to teaching. The more senses involved, the more likely one will remember.
