I received my Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1983 from Auburn University. I received my Master's Degree in Education from Troy State University at Montgomery in 1990. I have worked extensively with children in many areas due to the No Child left Behind Act. My comments on tutoring Poetry : GED level

My teaching style is determined by the needs of my class. Each person learns differently. I have found that a teacher must provide visible, hands-on, lectures, and kinetic teaching styles to meet the needs of a class. At some point every student must learn to work independently.
Adult Education Instructor for 9 years. I have taught in community GED classes in Georgia also. My experience in Alabama has been with the penal system. This has been a rewarding place to work. We are responsible for over 100 GED's each year. In Georgia, I also taught basic computer skills. Reading was the main focus of this promgram. I taught mothers to read to their children. I also teach voice privately.

Let's make learning FUN.

Worked with "At Risk" 8th graders to help get them on a positive path to High School. Instructed forums for the students that provided with the necessary information to have a successful education. I Created Agendas for upstate youth detention facilities to motivate them to return back to school upon release. Working with various groups of youth have inspired me to help anyone who wants to learn.
Have a very creative style when it comes to learning. Make lessons fun so it can set a positive environment for children and allow them to be more comfortable and enthusiastic.

My experience in teaching began as a UPS manager in 2007, when I was in charge of training new employees in UPS processes. In 2008, I enhanced my capabilities with an English degree (3.98 GPA) and more teaching experience in the form of ESL tutoring for Korean students. Early in 2010, I began teaching pre-AP English at Booker T. Washington Magnet High School, where I built curriculum around the subject as well as formed a key component of the school's Graduation Exam, Writing Assessment, and AP exam preparation. As a UPS manager/trainer, English teacher, and ESL tutor, I literally spend 78 hours a week teaching—43 of those hours specifically English or test-preparation based.

I have a degree in Early Childhool however, I have taught Biology for 9th and 10th graders in a private school. My husband, being prior military kept us moving so I have been a substitute for many years. I also taught my son until the 4th grade and he is now attending private school.
I believe that there are 3 types of learners: 1.Oral : learn by hearing 2.Visual : learn by seeing 3.Kinesthetic: learn by hearing, seeing and using their hands The Oral learner is a “teacher’s pet” because they are the students that will listen in class, barely take notes and do quite well in school. The Visual learner must “look on” as a teacher reads, not taking notes but to follow along in a book. The Kinesthetic learner usually has to listen, take notes, read along but will also tap their foot or a pencil.These types of “distractions” actually help a kinesthetic learner.
