Completing a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics in less than four years took dedication and excellent study skills. So far, I have only tutored people in Calculus, and Physics, but I am comfortable with Differential Equations, Discrete Math, freshman Chemistry and Biology, and pretty much anything Computer Science related at the undergraduate level.
I am excellent at breaking things down and making them easy to remember. Relating the subject material to something the learner can understand is key. I am very patient and will take the time to learn how to help each student in the most productive way I can.

A Little Bit About Me...

I began my teaching career by working in an urban setting in Pittsburgh. I taught a dynamic group of 4th and 5th graders by creating my own curriculum and thematic units for Science and Social Studies in addition to teaching math courses. Over the past year, I served as an Americorps volunteer in an inner city charter school with an emphasis on character education. I worked one on one with students helping them with math, reading, and science skills. I assisted in classroom teaching of mini lessons too. I also helped with their after-school program, I also created supplemental study guides and multimedia software to help students to improve their study skills. Math tutoring is a real delight to me. I get great satisfaction out of helping students conquer their fears and overcoming their obstacles with regards to mathematics and watching them eventually excel in this subject area. I have a very casual teaching style yet am adaptive to the student’s needs. Each and every mathematical concept can be taught in various ways.
