LESSONS SHOULD ACCOMMODATE STUDENT LEARNING STYLES

My belief is that all students have different learning styles. Therefore lessons need to be individualized to meet student needs. In order to be successful students need to be engaged by creative teachers. My teaching experience has taught me to accommodate these needs when developing lesson plans.
I have 15 years of teaching experience with special needs students in a rural school district. During this time i provided private tutoring sessions for Elementary, Middle, High School and College students. I have had two practicum rotations thus far. My first rotation was at C. W. Baker High School, in Baldwinsville, NY. This was a 10th grade, level one Global Studies classroom. I assisted with group activites, and helping students connect the information they were currently learning to prior knowledge. My second rotation was at Grant Middle School, in Syracuse, NY.
