I have 10 years of full-time counseling experience and 25 years of part-time teaching experience. As a counselor, I work in a completely individualized way with each student- sometimes emphasizing tricks, techniques, timing and speed reading, sometimes emphasizing content.
28 years of tutoring for SAT. 15 years for ACT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, etc. I have devised unique guessing strategies for multiple choice tests that by themselves have significantly raised students' scores. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style revolves around helping the student rationalize the information. I believe it is highly important the student learns to differentiate between the subjective and the objective, providing them with the tools that they can utilize for the rest of their educational and professional careers.
I maintain a high level of patience in dealing with other people. During my studies as an undergraduate and in veterinar school, I have gained extensive knowledge in many subjects. Combined, I have nearly 300 semester hours of biological science course work completed. I am familiar with laboratory procedures and the different styles of writing required for various reports. I also have superb knowledge of what is expected of early studenst to gain entry to and succeed at the higher education level.

I enjoy teaching students of all ages and academic experiences, whether it is the high school student who doesn't want to attend school anymore or the most avid learner in the university setting. I truly believe that every person is capable of learning if they are presented the material in a way which can motivate them to internalize the value of an education. I like working with children of all ages. I believe that children of all ages and cultural backgrounds can learn if given a proper chance. I even managed to teach children in South Korea, when I didn't speak Korean at all and my students had limited English skills. I taught them through games and use of our workbooks and student books. I believe in making learning a fun experience with lots of games and an easy going manner. If the kid is bored or unhappy, it is going to make it much harder for the child to learn. I try to also reach my students at the level where they are at. If a student is at a lower level of understanding, I will start with them there and slowly challenge and build them to a higher level.
