A Little Bit About Me...

I like to be interactive- when I'm teaching I prefer to work through a problem with a student together the first time, letting the student more or less watch me. The second time through, we approach the problem with a little more weight placed on the student. The third time I ask the student to attempt the problem on his/her own, and I'm available for questions.
I have tutored classmates and friends throughout college and after in science and math disciplines. My younger sister struggled in school and I assisted her with all disciplines from grades K-12. I studied Chemical Engineering at West Virginia University and got my degree in four years. I recently graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a B.S. in environmental science and a concentration in sociology and anthropology. I have served as the editorial assistant for the Applied Environmental Education and Communications journal for the last year and a half. I have also worked as a research assistant in the West Office Chair of Excellence in Communications and Public Relations under Dr. David Sachsman.
