Sign Language is one of my top subjects! Sign Language is fun to learn! I have taught children, teens and adults who are beginners through advanced signers. Many colleges now accept ASL as a foreign language just like Spanish, French, etc. I am a hearing teacher and I have taught hearing, deaf, hearing impaired, speech and language impaired and autistic people and their families how to communicate using sign language. I will make each lesson enjoyable and suit it to your needs.

I am excited to teach and I enjoy designing individualized lessons based on the needs of the student. I hope to have fun and I hope you will enjoy learning.
I have been a classroom teacher and a tutor for children, teens and adults who are deaf, hearing impaired, speech/language impaired, social/emotional impaired, cognitive delay, autistic, ADHD, etc. I have also taught early childhood children from birth. I can communicate using sign language and cued speech. I have experience teaching dyslexic children, teens and adults using the Orton-Gillingham philosophy. I am Pro-Literacy certified and I am a STAR certified trainer.

I am a graduate of Florida A&M University with a BS in Political Science, I am currently completing my MA degree at Barry Univeristy in Tallahassee, Fla. I was a Resource Teacher and wokred in the Innovation School of Execellence. I was Executive Director at a Christian Academy in Live Oak, Florida. I was also Director of the SES program (that was a sub-site)at our academy. I staffed 15 employees, 5 of which was retired accredited teacher. I also taught in our SES program.
I enjoy working with children. I know that all children are capable of learning and they believe if you believe. We taught the State of Florida ABECA style of teaching. We in the teaching profession are the basis of a child's future, this is not to be held litely or taken for granted. They are our future.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love using fun interactive games to help facilitate learning. Singing songs that get children to count and spell. Memorization games, like telephone or memory tag. Its my experience that the more engaged you keep students, the more they will retain information. In my 4 years experience as a camp counselor and tutor I have found that keeping an open mind and always spotting opportunities for children to learn and experience growth is the best style for teaching.
As a gifted student in my primary education, I always excelled in consuming the world around me through knowledge. I wanted to share my love of information with others.
