I do not have a particular teaching style. I am trained to teach different styles, but it is my goal to get to know every child as an individual and figure out the best way for that child to learn. I also realize one type of style may not be the best for every subject matter. After having 3 children of my own, I can say without a doubt that every child is different and what may work for one will not work for the other. I am currently working at Challenger 7 Elementary School as the only Guidance Counselor. My teaching style starts with finding out what the student knows and what is the best way they learn. Not everyone learns the same way and it is hard for students to ask for help. What I find to be the most successful in teaching and mentoring is to learn more about the student and use real life examples that interest them to teach them the material that they need to learn.
