My teaching follows the experiential learning paradigm with a focus on utilizing the student’s inherent creative skills in order to relate information and pursue skill attainment and enhancement. The tutoring will be very “hands-on” for the student during the sessions, getting them to actively participate in a learning atmosphere by targeting multiple skill-sets, modes of learning, and intelligences. A Little Bit About Me...

Since finishing my degree and teaching credential progam I have been teaching full time for the last 12 years. I was a tenured teacher in Atascadero teaching all subjects 3-8 from 1998-2001. I am currently teaching in Paso Robles and have been since 2001. I have taught at Flamson Middle School and now teach at Liberty Continuation High School. I primarily teach English and computers but have a Multiple Subject Credential and can easily teach Prealgebra.
I love what I do for a living. I love teaching and coaching and have always wanted to be a teacher. I believe all childeren can learn given the opportunity. I am a creative, patient teacher. I know that everyone learns differently, so I try to come up with many different ways to explain a concept. I love to see the sudden understanding in a student's eyes when they finally understand a difficult concept. This is what makes teaching an addictive and highly fulfilling activity for me.
During my undergraduate years, I often found myself tutoring fellow students. Eventually I got a job working for the math and science tutoring center on campus. I tutored students in my own classes and others, and I also helped teach a vertebrate anatomy lab. I am currently a Master's student in biology, and while biology is my field, I am also an accomplished writer. I feel comfortable helping students in a variety of fields, especially basic mathematics, science, and writing.
