My comments on tutoring Computer Programming : Did computer programming in 20 different languages over last 30 years

I have been tutoring friends and family in mathematics for thirty years, and as I enjoy this I started Tutoring. I love mathematics and teaching mathematics. And I can teach a love or at least a like for mathematics. (and I have to have 300 characters here ?, I have been accused of rambling before, but can I make it to 300 ?, OH great I made it to 300)
Teaching Style : Teaching style has to adjust to student. I know the subject, I must know how the student learns and adapt my teaching to that.

When teaching mathematics, I believe that over half of my job is social skills. Calming my students down, easing their frustration, and making them feel comfortable is over half the battle. It isn't that mathematics is too hard for most people, it is just too frustrating for most people. So my job is to set my client at ease and to create a learning environment. I have spent the last five years attaining my BS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Idaho. Throughout those four years I have had several opportunities to help out by mentoring young students. I am a part of a greek organization on campus that has housed many students, of which I have had the chance to help. I have tutored in several areas including: English, Mathematics (up to Ord. Differential Equations), programming, engineering, and CAD programs. I also have a lot of experience with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
