Spanish is one of my top subjects! I am native Spanish. I am an Interpreter/translator and currently give Spanish classes/tutoring to homeschoolers. My comments on tutoring Spanish : I took Honors Spanish courses throughout high school and excelled in each of them. I obtained my Bachelor's degree from Christian Brothers University, having Spanish as my minor.

Hello everyone! I would like to think that I'm an all around person, willing to work in many fields. Although most of my educational background is geared towards Psychology, I have plenty of experience with other subjects; the Psychology of learning aids me in being capable to work with other subjects. Being submerged in the language and culture is the best way to learn! Spanish is one of my top subjects!

The languages I listed are simply the the ones I use more often, but are not limited to those I am able to speak and/or teach. Of the three I use Spanish the most (as I use it everyday at work and home). My knowledge and abilities on the languages I speak is not limited to basic textbook understanding. I include all aspects, such as: textbook; common phrases/conversation; and slang. I have been involved with numerous volunteer projects in which I translated and/or taught for different languages and communities. I also have many close friends who's native tongues are of the ones I've listed. I even help teach them and/or their children English.

A Little Bit About Me...

Math has always been my favorite subject to tutor because I am a problem-solver, by nature. Whenever one of my students has difficulty understanding a math problem, I take it from a different approach and once they understand the concept and that “light-bulb comes on,” I get over-whelmed with excitement….I’ve gotten through to them! Nevertheless, there are times when you think you have accomplished your goal and you later find out that the student did not retain the information previously learned. I found, through my experience, that this can be avoided by positive reinforcement. Some students do not retain information as well as others, so I love the use of math tricks in teaching the multiplication tables and acronyms, such as “PLEASE EXCUSE MY DEAR AUNT SALLY” to help students recall a process. A Little Bit About Me...

In May of 2010, I successfully completed my fourth year of teaching. Each year has been different. The children of today learn in many different ways. There has been a change in learning styles over the course of time. Some children may learn through hands on activities and modeling, while others learn through lecture. Regardless of the learning style, I have learned that it is my job to make learning relevant and meaningful to students.
