I typically will not go to another topic until the current one is understood. In terms of teaching math, my style incorporates less use of a calculator and more "thinking". For example, instead of just saying "memorize that anything to the zero power equals 1", I will teach the student WHY that is through examples. From June of 2005 till January of 2009 I was homeschooling a family of 5 children everyday.
