Born and educated in Great Britain. Graduated Rickmansworth School with Certificates of education in Mathematics, Physics, Biology, English Language and English Literature. Attended Watford College and obtained the equivalent of a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. After emigrating to the United States and serving 4 years in the US Air Force I pursued a career in IBM Mainframe Programming. For 4 years I taught Business Programming at Boulder Vocational/Technical College as well as conducting many in-house training sessions at Storage Tek. I love to teach one-on-one or in small groups. The greatest moment for me, as a teacher, is what I call the “Aha!” that I see in a student’s eyes when he/she finally understands a troublesome concept. I believe that teaching is about empowering my students to take responsibility for their own learning. A Little Bit About Me...

I have enjoyed teaching for many years. My honors-level undergraduate courses led me to a lot of reading and writing --and to serve as a teaching assistant in ethics for five semesters. Since I also love math and accounting, I was also hired to teach entry-level accounting courses. At work, I served as a beta tester for Excel and began teaching others to use it, as well. I now have thirteen years of experience in teaching accounting, besides two years of coaching college-level composition. Volunteer experience with elementary students inspired them to succeed in all the language arts, as well as basic math skills. Helping others develop new skills and abilities has been great fun!
