I have been taking classes at Daytona State for 1 semester, but like my credentials said, I have gotten awards through them from my Middle School, and high school. I have been tutoring since 2003. I have had multiple students at one time, so group sessions may be common in my teaching. I am in all advanced classes, and I can tutor in just about ever subjects.
I teach either one on one or in groups with the same subject, depending on how many students I get.

A Little Bit About Me...

I truly enjoy working with children and realize each child has a unique way of learning. Tutoring allows this one-on-one contact to discover how each child learns best. My teaching style focuses on improving a child’s memory and understanding of subjects. I like to alternate subject examples with practice to develop the student’s problem-solving strategies. I also help the student connect abstract concepts with things they can relate to in their own life. I use a lot of positive reinforcement and encouragement. To promote long term understanding I ask the student questions to encourage the student’s explanation to foster a deeper understanding of concepts.

A Little Bit About Me...

Each child is different. I always try to notice and acknowledge what benefits each student, as I think this applies to all forms of teaching from academics to athletics. Getting on their level is what ultimately benefits the child from the get go and gains their interest. If I'm interested, then the child is interested. I do my best to make sure the child is setting their goals and doing their best to achieve them in the way and style for which they are best suited.
I have two bachelors degrees, however, I believe it is my experience teaching children that has helped me develop a good sense on how to approaching teaching scenarios. I have years of experience teaching children in academics, music, and dramatic arts, as well as coaching basketball and teaching golf at the professional level.
