I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. In addition, after school hours were spent with two students taking AP Biology classes. Both students achieved a 4 or higher on their placement exams. I was a member of Teen Trendsetters(an elementary tutoring program), AVID(a middle school and high school tutoring program), and I was also a member of the FFEA program in high school. I graduated from the Tomorrow's Leaders Program in my junior year of high school.
When I was in high school, I loved tutoring children in my spare time. All children have their own unique way of learning and it was a privelege to be able to help each child learn in a different way.
