I look at the whole child, their home life, their academic background, what interests and intrigue them, how involved they are in the learning process. I work with their strengths and weave them into their weaknesses. I provide positive feedback and acknowledge the work it takes to make the small steps that turn into big leaps. I provide parents with positive and encouraging progress reports as well as ideas to incorporate into daily living that will encourage and reinforce learning; games to play, books to read, personal experiences, not to give up.
