A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked as a teacher on the Big Island, and spent over ten years as a volunteer trainer at public access television facilities in New York and Texas. I am currently seeking tutoring work as I complete the last year of my online "masters in elementary education" program. I have a bachelors in Psychology, and twenty years of working experience, 5 in supervisory positions. I can teach elementary and high school level work. Though I received my degree last June, most of my teaching experience came while I was still learning. In high school, I worked as a museum docent for after-school programs - at one point trying to convince 3rd graders that M.C. Escher's life and work were as exciting as the afternoon TV they were missing. While in college, I worked for Apple computer, teaching adults in one-on-one tutoring sessions in computer usage. My method of studying for my finals was to show up to study groups not to learn the answers, but to reinforce my own learning by explaining the relevant topics to my peers. I have graduated Radio Engineering University and have received Bachelor in “Machinery and Technology” as well as Engineering degree –“Standardization and certification”, both are with HONORS. I am also trained in International Standards ISO 9000 series and connected quality assurance techniques. Recently I have been working as Process Engineer for the Manufacture of printed circuit boards. Mathematics, statistics, metrology and everything connected with logic were my favorite subjects.
