Since graduating from Missouri State in the fall of 2009 with my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish education I have been substituting with Sparta schools and Republic schools. I have also been tutoring a student in Spanish. I completed my student teaching in the fall of 2009 with Ozark High School and Springfield Catholic School. Before then I spent several years working with kids at book festivals and in Mexico through Second Baptist Church. I believe teaching is best learned though practical examples (especially math). because I used to say the same thing that I'm sure that kids today are saying. When am i ever going to use this in my daily life? Its important to let them see the applications from knowing calculus based formulas to predict market declines (algorithms), to basic math in in inventory work, to understanding complex words and their proper sentence usage so they can understand what rudimentary or neophyte means in a job interview. I have a BA in Creative Writing, which I have put to use not only in my writing but I am a proofreader to several other beginning author’s stories.
