A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked for the past 14 years in the behavioral health care field. I have served as a mentor to a youth with behavioral/emotional issues. I hold a BA of Education with a minor in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. I also hold an MSEd in Education- Counseling. I hold a current Nebraska teaching certificate and have worked with youth of all ages.
I enjoy teaching and helping youth learn. My philosophy is that all children can learn if provided the opportunity and resources that fit their learning style. I believe in positive reinforcement and praise. Children learn in many different ways, and it is an educators role to provide opportunities for children to learn through various methods. I am a positive and outgoing person and believe this is evident in my teaching and presentation style.

I know that each student can reach his/her goals if he/she is motivated and feels confident in his/her ability. I achieve this by helping to point out the student's strengths and encourage them in a positive environment. Student's with the right support can accomplish their learning goals.
I have many experiences and a varied background. I have two Masters in English and Secondary Education. My bachelor degrees are in English and Spanish. While a high school student, I was an exchange student in Mexico. I also spent five years in Japan teaching English in a public school and at a language school.
