I started college with the intention of becoming an elementary school teacher. I completed all coursework at Chadron State College Chadron, NE with the exception of my professional semester. I graduated college in the summer of 1985 with two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Guidance/Counseling and the other in Recreation. I worked as a certified teacher in the state of Florida in an alternative school for emotionally disturbed/behavior disordered boys. I have 4 children and I have home schooled all of them to varying degrees. Currently I am home schooling my youngest two children and they are in the 11th grade. I enjoy teaching all subjects but am partial to mathematics, history and grammar. I love learning and consider myself a life-long student. I am a firm believer in getting a quality education. I have proven many methods of teaching, especially in instrumental music. Through large group rehearsals and individual instruction, I have been allowed to explore many types of learning tools. Kickboxing instruction has also provided even more opportunities for diverse learning. My primary method is demonstration and 'hands-on' approach, especially with learning an instrument.
