My comments on tutoring Math : After teaching high school math for 16 years, I started pursuing my doctorate in mathematics education. Math is one of my top subjects!

I am a senior college student at Northern Kentucky University. I have been a Certified Substitute and Classified teacher's aide at Owen County Schools for 2 years. Also, I have obtained a college "area of concentration" in educational studies at NKU, with a major in Organizational Leadership which will be completed in May 2012.
Teaching style consists of a more visual approach to ensure students can see the process of how problems/questions can be answered rather than just trying to explain. Multiple strategies can be used, especially in the Elementary Math field.

I can make learning fun, No Doubt!

I have learned many teaching styles. Each student learns differently, so there is a technique to apply to very learning style to accommodate individual needs.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe the best way to learn is by working one on one and then taking the lessons learned and working out problems with out a tutor present and then bringing back the problems that caused a struggle. Even better is working in a group of peers and then checking in with a tutor weekly so that the student and tutor can zero in on what the sticking points were that week.
I have been teaching and tutoring mathematics since the age of 15. I started working at a tutoring center where the student's ages ranged from 4-15.
