As I was once a child with a speech impediment, I received many services such as reading and writing and speech therapy throughout my elementary years. I feel it is important to help children and students receive the services they need to succeed as soon as possible. I believe students learn best with hands on experiences and in multiple modalities. I will adjust my teaching style to the learning style of the student. Some students are visual learning and some are auditory learners. Whichever style they may be, I will make sure to provide examples and activities that fit their needs. Starting at the end of 2008 I became a substitute teacher in Liverpool Central Schools and in 2009 for Baldwinsville Central Schools as well. After becoming a substitute teacher I quickly honed many skills in order to be an effective teacher. My classroom management skills grew exponentially to ensure safety in the class as well as an environment in which learning was promoted.
