The plan is to start a Master's Degree in applied statistics at Syracuse University in the fall of 2013. My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : Pre-Algebra involves taking everything you've learned up until now in math and using it to build a foundation for algebra, and it would be my absolute pleasure to help you build the confidence to succeed! I am patient and more than willing to go over concepts multiple times.

For tutoring, I prefer face-to-face lessons, because it makes it easier for me to gauge how well the student is understanding the material. I try to explain concepts in a variety of ways to find out how the student learns best, whether through repetition, example, metaphor, application... whatever works! I have tutored kids with all kinds of needs and a few with pretty short attention spans :) For piano lessons, I would use the Alfred library of teaching materials, as that is how I was taught and it works wonders on new learners! While working on my associates degree I tutored pre-calculus and statistics. I also worked briefly with catholic charities tutoring all subjects for high school students in need. I then completed my bachelors degree while tutoring part time at SUNY Oswego and independently with a high school student in Math and AP physics.
