My comments on tutoring Elementary Social Studies : Understanding the world has life long rewards. I use maps and games to make this more fun. I have traveled extensively to unusual places and show objects from these places which students have enjoyed and found inspirational.

In groups large or small I have always individualized instruction. I get to know each student's interests and abilities, then build on the abilities using the interests. I believe students learn better when they find activities interesting and fun. I have had students come up to me in a hall years later saying remember when we did ...
