A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring for many years with different kinds of children. To begin with, I tutored my younger sister starting when she was about seven years old to age twelve or thirteen. In high school, I also volunteered for an after-school program for Hispanic children ages seven-twelve where I helped them with their homework in various subjects. In addition, I spent about four months tutoring a severely autistic child, teaching him different communication skills and helping him to form patterns. I have always been an 'A' student and I excel in math, science, English, foreign languages, and history. I am best with math and science for elementary up to ninth or tenth grade students, yet I can tutor students in history, reading, and English for all ages. Learning and helping others learn are among my highest priorities in life. My high academic honors reflect this drive to learn: I earned magna cum laude in college, and I was valedictorian of my high school class. My degree in English Education gave me a strong grasp of English grammar, composition, and literature; it also gave me concentrated training and practice in teaching these subjects to adolescents.
