I love working with people and seeing them succeed. I tend to meet the person at the level where they are at, then adapt the lessons to their learning style. I have been tutoring for many years with different kinds of children. To begin with, I tutored my younger sister starting when she was about seven years old to age twelve or thirteen. In high school, I also volunteered for an after-school program for Hispanic children ages seven-twelve where I helped them with their homework in various subjects. In addition, I spent about four months tutoring a severely autistic child, teaching him different communication skills and helping him to form patterns. A Little Bit About Me...

Learning and helping others learn are among my highest priorities in life. My high academic honors reflect this drive to learn: I earned magna cum laude in college, and I was valedictorian of my high school class. My degree in English Education gave me a strong grasp of English grammar, composition, and literature; it also gave me concentrated training and practice in teaching these subjects to adolescents. As a volunteer, I have taught Sunday school to fifth- and sixth- grade students. I am also a classically-trained pianist and served as church pianist for many years.
