I am willing to tailor my teaching style to the needs of the individual(s). However, I prefer to add an interactive element to all of my lessons. I worked with a variety of ages from k-12. My most recent experience has been with students in elementary school. I worked for a semester teaching children about sustainable practices and the benefits of buying produce from local farms. While I am most comfortable with high school students, I have great communication skills and can work well with all children.

Being a residential intensive case manager was the most accomplished life-changing job experience that I have done at Salisbury Behavioral Health, Inc.’s Deaf Services Center based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I graduated in 2008 and i have been tutoring for many years. I got my masters degree in tutoring in 2010 and have helped people who have a disability and they ended up getting 3 degrees. I have been to night school and Saturday school to teach me these things. I get personal lessons from a family member that has done way to many classes to learn this stuff. I ask the kid many questions about what they are learning and I give them advice on how to get better at it. I tell them to go over there notes every night.

I have earned two masters degrees, one in Mathematics, one in Special Education. I have worked for more than ten years in public schools as a teacher. I also have certification in teaching students with dyslexia in two different methods - Orton-Gillingham method of reading, Phono-Graphix method or reading. I am currently volunteering for Dyslexia Tutoring Program and also working as a community outreach tutor for Summit School in Annapolis. Having worked with a variety of learners with varying disabilities, I have gained experience in adapting my style to support my student to be successful.
