My comments on tutoring Math : In general, mathematics happens to be one of my strongest areas of expertise, if not my strongest. I excel in many aspects of the topic including, but not necessarily limited to, elementary math, algebra I & II, and geometry

I believe that a child cannot fully come to comprehend subject matter without having a chance to be immersed in it first. This philosophy lends to the hands-on, question-oriented form of teaching that I so firmly stand by. I realize that different people employ different strategies in coming to learn new material and I will adjust the way I teach as best I can in order to accommodate each and every individual detail. Much the same as the famous social psychologist Lev Vygotsky emphasized the zone of proximal development, I believe that education should not be approached from the standpoint of "teaching to the test" as much as it deserves to be about aiding a child in coming up with creative alternatives in an effort to master the concept in question and develop an intrinsic motivation to actually want to learn.
