I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored people in math before. Their grades have ranged from 7th-10th grade. I have also helped friends in classes in college that have to do with statistics and other math classes. When I was in high school, the highest math class I had ever taken was Calculus BC. This was the highest math class that my school offered so I believe that I could people pass their math classes in high school and possibly College. I majored in American Studies which focused on history and culture in the US, and minored in Creative Writing and Digital Arts. First and foremost, students are required to participate in the learning process in order for me to determine whether students are grasping an adequate understanding. For reading comprehension, students take turns reading a paragraph as I ask questions throughout the story. Generally math is hands-on.
