My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : One of my favorite genres of writing, personally, and to teach.

I have worked with children in a variety of settings and ages over the past 25 years: church camp counselor, gymnastics coach, dance instructor, theater, forensics judge, tutor, and classroom teacher. These experiences have both shaped my style of teaching and equipped me with a broad range of skills needed to connect with, instruct, and inspire children. I’ve worked for an elementary MPS school, an elementary Charter School, a suburban Middle School, and a Catholic school system. When two of the last schools I worked for closed because of financial difficulties, I went back to school to get my Masters Degree in Reading Curriculum and Instruction. I completed my MA in Library and Information Science with the intent of working in reference assisting in research and scholarship. I also have two bachelor degrees; a BA in History and a BA in the Comparative Study of Religion. My education has enabled me to perfect skills in writing. I am also experienced with various citation styles. I have tutored students at various levels of learning and in a wide range of subjects. I volunteered at a center for women teaching basic reading and language skills and at a literacy center assisting adults working towards their GED and teaching students learning English as a second language. I have recently returned to school to pursue my teaching license in secondary education in English. I have a passion for reading and writing and can't wait to pass on my excitement to future students. My first degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
