I have always known that I wanted to work with children and for the past 11 years, I have worked with children in various settings. My teaching style is highly student focused. Instead of providing only textbook reading and writing my classroom focuses on having the students work hands on to create models of the systems they are learning so they can develop their own understanding of the material. I believe that all students should have an interest in the workings of biology especially related to the human body. A priority of mine is to make sure the students are not rushed in their learning. I believe that each student should be encouraged to proceed at a pace that fosters learning and not rote memorization. I have taught Navajos, Hopis, Apaches, Mexicans, Arabs, and in two Multinational Schools in Saudi Arabia and to princesses in the Diplomatic Quarters of Riyadh. I have taught from k-12, been an adjunct professor for two campuses, taught special education, and human relations in alternative school settings.
