I like to incorporate heart when I teach. Every student is special and keeps teaching interesting. I believe in the ability of the learner and must help them find success. I am patient but firm. I know I am easy going and considerate and respectful of the students. I am a change agent in the lives of children. I am now a university student for the secondary school certification.
I have a wealth of experience in many different areas. I have a bachelor degree in Economics. I started to work with special needs children. This was on a volunteer basis and so I don't think I listed it on my resume. I then substituted in the public schools for elementary and secondary schools. I graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in outdoor education. I have worked with students in a variety of settings both in the public schools and in the outdoors. I was a site facilitator at a before and after school program, tutoring 60 children grades K-5. I recently published a book called Light Hearts and Heavy Packs outlining my adventures on the Pacific Crest Trail.
