Teaching style depends on the student. Establishing rapport at the beginning of the sessions and taking the time to talk to each student one on one will set a good foundation for learning. I teach through discussion and have the student teach it back to me or another party to be sure they understand the problem. I am confident they will progress with this approach.
As a former probation officer in both the juvenile and adult population, I have worked on numerous community service projects and helped teach at risk youth life skills as well as assisting in acedemics.
