My comments on tutoring Social Studies : I have worked extensively with students in the middle grades with the growing and more complex issues that arise in Social Studies.

My teaching style tends to change based on the student. I do my best to adapt to meet the different learning styles of the student. There is no one way to learn or teach, I do my best to meet the needs of the student.
I have over 15 years experience working in the research and information fields. I have worked as a public librarian helping students with research, works cited, and educating them on educational databases that can assist them with school. I spent 8 years as a media specialist in a lower and middle school. Social Studies is one of my top subjects!

I would describe my teaching style as friendly. I try not to give off so much of teacher-student type atmosphere, because many children get discouraged and are not as comfortable and not as willing to learn.
I am currently a high school junior. That being said, I do not have a degree. However, I am in the top 20% of my high school class, I take only honors classes, and actually learn the material so I can tutor a student who needs help. I have a BS in Elementary Education and just completed my sixth year of teaching at the elementary level.
