My teaching style is specific to the individual child and their needs. When I worked at the residential center, I had to teach alcohol and drug awareness classes. During that time is when I learned that encouragement, patience, and a variety of methods are essential to a child's academic success. Small successes help to build confidence in order to move on to the subsequent challenges.
