Received the RIAM silver medal at 15 for piano, and the gold medal at 18 years of age. Played drums for 12+ years. Guitar is one of my top subjects!

Mandarin Chinese - I use Total Physical Response Teaching (TPRS) when teaching elementary aged novice learners, which teaches Chinese as well as American Sign Language. History - I teach history using the many multi-media databases that I subscribe to each month. Musical instruments - patience and hands on. I ask the student what song they want to learn and start learning the first lesson.
Through my educational studies and life experiences I have gained a firm grasp and appreciation for Mandarin Chinese and Chinese culture. Furthermore, I am a gifted teacher and wish to share my knowledge of China, as well as other subjects like music, history, and art, with others who may find some facets of these subjects to be challenging.

A Little Bit About Me...

I would describe my teaching style in terms of the activity, belaying. Slack is given to the rope at times so that the climber may advance, or traverse, the face of the mountain. When the climber feels tired, or incapable, the rope needs tightening so the climber stays secure. If the climber falls from the face of the mountain the taught rope will prevent injury or possible demise. I tend to give my students slack when I feel they are advancing in terms of curriculum, yet once I notice their tendency to rest, or falter, I tighten my teaching approach by using more straightforward methods so that they are not confused, or do not wear themselves out with struggle. This is all so they reach the top of whatever mountain they choose to conquer.
