What is called the "Affective Filter" is what I deal with most: that is the part of each student that is unwilling to try. A Little Bit About Me...

I am working toward teaching at the university level and have, of course in the process, taught students at the university level in literature and Arabic. But I enjoy tutoring and teaching students at a variety of levels because the different levels require different creativity and different techniques that create an ability to think on one's toes that feeds the classroom energy and enthusiasm.
I honestly believe that creativity is the guiding means of teaching techniques, resources, and assignments. All students require different things and creativity allows for an agility and flexibility that works with different students and keeps the teaching dialogue sustainable. A Little Bit About Me...

I have an undergraduate degree in Aerospace Engineering. I have a Masters in Systems Engineering. I have tutored one person in statistics, algebra, analytical geometry and elementary functions for one year. She has maintained an “A” average during that time.
I take a look at what the existing instruction materials are attempting to convey and I add to that or expound on that. I use Google extensively to look for similar examples to the problems the student might be having. I believe that it is best to solve any given problem in at least two different ways if you really want to get some insight. It also helps in either verifying your answer or checking if you are in the ballpark.
