Depending on the students learning style and the subject, my teaching style will differ. If the student is a visual learner than I will create PowerPoints and other visual aids to help them. If the student is kinesthetic than I may create a project for them to do (if the parent is ok with it), or I may have them interact more during the tutoring than with the visual learner. Lastly, if the student is an auditory learner than I will create/find videos for them to understand the material or create a song. When it comes down to my teaching style I believe that Vygotsky's Sociolinguistic theory just about sums it up because I believe that the best way for people in general to learn is by conversation. I believe that for students to really learn and comprehend a particular idea they must be be able to talk it through. Also, I believe that children learn better with a more kinesthetic approach. I believe teaching is about learning instead of the outcome. I began as an education major at the University of Central Oklahoma before switching to Oklahoma Baptist University.
