I am presently a doctoral student in education and have 17 years in teaching from preschool to adult level. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe teaching is about learning instead of the outcome. I practice "learning by doing" where they create their own style and way of accomplishing the task based on age appropriate methods and ways that work for them. It is not about the final product, but rather how they get to the proposed finish. Kids will go as far as you push them and typically exceed ones expectations.
I began as an education major at the University of Central Oklahoma before switching to Oklahoma Baptist University. I have worked with children in a professional setting since 2004 in church, non profit, daycare, early childhood, and preschool settings. I value education and find it to be a crucial and vital part of child development. I have tutored autistic students, as well as taught preschool for 14 months both at Saint Dunstans Preschool and Holland Hall College Preparatory School.

I have always loved children, and have never wanted to be anything other than a teacher. I taught a total of 30 years, with 23 of those years being in public school. The other 7 were spent operating and teaching in a private school. I have a fine arts degree as well as being certified to teach K-8. The subject I enjoy most is reading, and that is the area in which I tutored. I am also able to help in any other language arts subjects.
