I am an Electrical engineer who has taken some masters level electrical engineering courses. I am currently doing prerequisite to enter medical school. I am therefore current with the way the core science are being taught and I have been tutoring chemistry 1 biology and mathematics for 4 years.
I believe people learn through doing. Especially with mathematics I ensure that concepts are clearly presented to my students. Then I motivate then to try to do the problems, with my guidance, and as they gain confidence to eventually work problems on their own. This is the approach I use for chemistry as well.
