A Little Bit About Me...

As a homeschooler from fifth grade through high school, I learned the value of personalized instruction. My passion for learning the sciences led me to a double major in chemistry and mechanical engineering. While completing my degrees, I have been granted several opportunities to tutor in chemistry, mathematics, calculus, and the engineering sciences. In addition, I have worked closely with my instructors as a laboratory assistant in the freshman chemistry labs, and have been promoted to the position of laboratory instructor while I complete my second degree.
I enjoy working with a student until I see the "light bulb" come on. Because people are individuals, I realize that the same approach will not work with every student. Teaching has been my last career change. My prior experience has been in the field of manufacturing, maintenance engineering services and construction management. This diversified background was instrumental in equipping me to acquire a technology education certificate in three states (NY, OH, NJ) I am equipped to tutor elementary students in math, the physical sciences and language arts. I am also certified to teach students in technology and special education.
My teaching style is customized to each student's needs. Because all students have different learning styles my instructions are patterned to maximize that student's particular style.
