I am a very patient, easy going, and considerate instructor. I believe that the hands-on learning approach is the most effective in helping all children learn. Each child has their own individual strengths and weaknesses. I feel it is important to identify the strengths and use those to overcome the weaknesses.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences in 2008, and will receive my Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences in May of 2010. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a recent graduate from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, with a BS in Business Administration - International Business and a focus in Chinese. Because this program is relatively new, a degree in International Business required multiple Finance courses, which allowed me to learn many advanced statistical and mathematical concepts. In these classes, I often assumed an informal tutor role and helped my fellow students understand difficult points. In addition, I trained new employees during my tenure as Lab Manager of a campus computer lab.

Because science is a "hands-on" subject, I feel it is extremely important to use demonstrations, examples that are relevant to every-day life, experiments and anything else that will help students understand the world around them. I have been told that I have an "out-of-the-box" approach to learning, but have found it to be successful with the majority of students. Classroom discussions are utilized more often then lectures, because when a student plays an active role in their education, they learn more.
