During my last year of college, I was employed by my university as a science/math tutor. During this year I was able to help students with their science problems of all levels. During my time in college I was involved in reading biomedical research papers.I was able to attract many students interested in the biomedical research field to learn how to read research papers. I was very proud of myself for this due to the high difficulty first year graduate students have reading these papers.
My teaching is based on lecture explanation. During teaching/tutoring I encourage my students to ask questions. At the end of the lesson I provide problems related to the related material. Assign homework for next class session.

Hello, I am a graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelors degree in Chemistry, as well as a minor in Business. Receiving a top-notch education from an accredited university, allowed me to gain an understanding in many areas of math and science. I scored a 5 on AP Calculus in high school and ranked 12 out of 496 students. Back in high school, math and science homework were never a chore, rather i enjoyed doing it. This also allowed me to better my skill set at the university. I have learned essential skills in other areas as well including writing research papers, faster reading skills, and better note-taking skills. I truly enjoy working with students. In my experience, many students get discouraged when they become confused with the content of material they are studying. I feel that in many cases, it is just as important to teach students how to learn as it is to teach what to learn; consequently, I advocate a step by step teaching method that allows the student to focus on what they do know, rather than what they do not know. As the student begins to understand each step, they become able to develop the required problem solving skills.
