Spanish is one of my top subjects! I have studied Spanish in school for 5 years at the college level and have also studied abroad in Spain and Argentina. Although it is not my major, I almost have enough credits to have a degree in Spanish. I have taken classes on translation, Spanish phonology and phonetics, and learning and teaching foreign language in addition to general course work focusing on the Spanish language and Spanish-speaking cultures.

Spanish is one of my top subjects! I have taught Spanish 201 and 202 (intermediate level courses) at ISU as a TA, worked as a bilingual customer service rep and hold a Bachelor degree in Spanish (and Sociology) from Drake. I make understanding grammar and other concepts accessible and easy.

Teaching Assistant for Spanish 201 and 202 for two sections each semester from January 2014 to Spring 2015 at Iowa State University, Reported to Dr. Cristina Pardo Ballester. Taught Sociology of Work at ISU (Spring 2013), Introduction to Sociology, Social Problems and Race and Ethnic Relations at Grand View, and Introduction to Sociology at DMACC. I also worked as a bilingual customer service representative for Principal (Investor Specialist II) and was a Peace Corps volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa prior to pursuing my graduate studies at ISU. I really enjoy getting people of all ages to learn. My day job is with Easter Seals where I work with all ages and disabilities. With both Easter Seals and tutoring, I found that it requires a wide variety of approaches to get my clients to learn. I have learned a lot of patience and creativity in this time. My liberal arts educations granted me opportunities to learn and excel in many arenas such as writing, math, science, and the social sciences.
