As a teacher and instructor, I have over 20 years experience in education and a BA in Music Education. I have 13 years experience teaching music, to all levels K-12, in public schools. In addition I have and continue to provide individual music lessons to children and adults. I also teach group kickboxing exercise classes at our YMCA. I have also enjoyed volunteering in our Awana club as a group leader assisting 3rd - 5th grade students. I have proven many methods of teaching, especially in instrumental music. Through large group rehearsals and individual instruction, I have been allowed to explore many types of learning tools. I have worked for the past 14 years in the behavioral health care field. I have served as a mentor to a youth with behavioral/emotional issues. I hold a BA of Education with a minor in Elementary Education and a minor in Special Education. I also hold an MSEd in Education- Counseling. I hold a current Nebraska teaching certificate and have worked with youth of all ages. I enjoy teaching and helping youth learn. My philosophy is that all children can learn if provided the opportunity and resources that fit their learning style. I believe in positive reinforcement and praise.
