Experience Summary
I started college with the intention of becoming an elementary school teacher. I completed all coursework at Chadron State College Chadron, NE with the exception of my professional semester. I graduated college in the summer of 1985 with two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Guidance/Counseling and the other in Recreation.
I worked as a certified teacher in the state of Florida in an alternative school for emotionally disturbed/behavior disordered boys.
I have 4 children and I have home schooled all of them to varying degrees. Currently I am home schooling my youngest two children and they are in the 11th grade.
I enjoy teaching all subjects but am partial to mathematics, history and grammar.
Teaching Style
I love learning and consider myself a life-long student. I am a firm believer in getting a quality education. I believe life is the best teacher and to use all that is happening in a child’s life to help them learn and take from it something positive.
I believe that a right attitude and a positive perspective goes a long way in being able to succeed in school and life.
My strengths are in realizing that we all learn in varying ways and as a teacher it is my responsibility to look at my student as an individual and help them discover their unique learning styles and find the right motivation to guarantee their success.
