My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : I have worked with students in phonics during tutoring sessions and when teaching at school.

I have been teaching students for the past twelve years. I taught in the field of Special Education with students in grades 1-5 for eight years. I received my Masters Degree in reading and ESL and now I teach ESL to students in 1st and 2nd grades. I also tutor students of all grades at Sylvan Learning Center in the areas of reading, writing, and math. I have also tutored students at Cardinal Stritch University in reading.
I enjoy using a hands-on approach when it suits the needs of my students. I enjoy playing games, showing short learning videos, singing songs, scaffolding strategies with my students.

My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : I was a elementary special education teacher for 10 years. I helped my students in all subject areas to be successful and find their individual learning style.

I believe my patience and creativity allows children to feel comfortable with their own learning needs. I work with them and help them find their unique learning style. We then build on that style to build their confidence and ability. All children can learn once we find their unique learning "channel".
I have been a Special Education Teacher for 15 years and an administrator for 5 years. I have taught at both the elementary, intermediate and high school levels. I have worked with students who have been severely cognitively disabled and those that have had multiple attention and behavioral concerns. My comments on tutoring Elementary Phonics : During my masters program in Reading and Curriculum Instruction, I spent many hours learning and perfecting the art of elementary phonics.
